The Night B4.... flying off to Taiwan!!

Tonight is the last I would be spending in Singapore for the next one month. Mind you! One solid month without my parents coming along with me.. I'm not saying that I am scared or worried as the worst trip ever has been over last year, when I went to Brunei, a place where one can see almost nothing but forests and steep terrains. However, my indifference is slowly and gradually giving way as concerned friends reminded me that one month is not actually short, especially when you are alone.

Tonight coincidentally I had my 4K class gathering at TK's place. It is actually a farewell gathering to send off several friends going overseas, including Xumin, Chin Siong and Shi Mei. They are going overseas to study, and it will be at least half a year before they return to Singapore to meet up with family and friends. Moreover, it is likely that they would be all by themselves, with the exception of new friends over there. That leaves me thinking that my one month trip is actually small fry as compared to theirs.
Anyway, we had a very enjoyable night, mostly talking about studying overseas and severals' experiences abroad (Chin and Zihui, who have been studying in Chicago and UK respectively). The turnout was good and friends like Chin, Zihui, Shimei and Tanny whom I had not met for quite a while were present. Tanny even drove her car to TK's house. Too bad Songyu had something on and Ben, who is in the same company as me, has to fly off on the 1st flight. I left TK's house at about 9-plus, as I have to reach the airport at 5am the next day in time for the 7am flight.

The Beginning of Time

I was inspired to write this blog by my friends and a budding young author featured in the papers on Sunday. This China-born author(I couldn't remember her name) is only 22 and is pursuing a degree in computer programming in Singapore but she has by now published 5 books including novels and poetry. She had started early, at about the age of 14. (this is all I can remember about this author... haha... *regrets* I'll try to get hold of that day's papers though, so I can at least mention her name...)
One thing you careful readers might notice is the discrepancy between the dates of the blogs and that of my profile... ya... i actually started on 20th November, but I backdated it to August so that I can include the many, many important happenings in my life during this period. It's not cheating..., ok? I was already inspiring to write a blog then.
K lah, hope you will enjoy this blog and happy reading!!
